The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) came into effect on 25th May 2018.
This regulation brought us into line with the rest of Europe and is much more stringent than the previous Data Protection Regulations.
It affects how you gather, process, store and use personal data (any data which includes a contact name). Luckily, Direct Mail is covered by a clause called ‘Legitimate Interest’. This means that postal mailings for marketing purposes or requesting charitable donations, do not need to be consent based.
